Marina Barrage

Date: Sunday, 16 November 2008
Location: Marina Barrage, Marina South, Singapore

I and Inka went to Marina Barrage earlier today. We are supposed to meet some of my friends from the Indo-Sing Photographers community, however I was unable to find them. I was also unable to reach Adrian over the phone.

The view from the dam, especially from the rooftop of the building, is quite astonishing. However, what most impresses me is the water playground for children (and adults, too). It is much nicer than the wading pools at VivoCity, and I guarantee that the kids would be having a great time there. Don't forget to bring some change clothes for your kids. :)

There's also a gallery, which showcases how the reservoir and the dam were being built.

It's quite difficult to reach Marina Barrage using public transport. Last time SBS bus 400 used to ply that area, but not anymore now. However, you can use a free shuttle bus service from Marina Bay MRT station to Marina Barrage, at 30-minute interval. More information can be found here.
